French company

Recover the VAT you paid in other EU countries.

A trade fair in Milan, a hotel in Berlin, site work in Belgium: VAT paid in another country cannot be deducted on your French return. It is claimed back from the country that charged it. VATBAK checks what is recoverable, prepares the claim and files it for you.

Estimate your recoverable VAT

Pick the country and enter your gross spend for the last 12 months. The estimate applies that country's VAT rates and rules, expense by expense.

Determines recovery on vehicle rental and fuel.

Indicative only. Actual entitlement depends on invoice compliance and business purpose.

Good to know

One deadline a year

Your 2026 expenses can be claimed until 30 September 2027. After that date, the VAT is lost for good.

Each country has its own rules

The country that charged the VAT decides what comes back, not France. See the table below.

A minimum amount

A claim must reach at least €400 for a quarter, or €50 for a full year.

Rules by country

Every country refunds differently.

Denmark refunds a quarter of restaurant VAT, Belgium none. Here is each country's position, expense by expense: the table the estimator applies.

Fully recoverable Restricted or conditional Blocked

Standard national positions. Conditions and exceptions apply per country and per expense — conditional cells are exactly where claims get rejected.

These positions can be changed at any time by each member state: rates, exclusions and deduction percentages move with national finance acts and case law. The table reflects the position known at publication and must be re-verified before any claim is filed.

How it works

01

Send your invoices

PDFs, scans or an export from your expense tool. Nothing to integrate.

02

We check every expense

Against the rules of the country that charged the VAT. Anything not recoverable is taken out, with the reason, so it does not weaken the rest of the claim.

03

We file and follow the claim

Through the French tax authority's portal, which forwards it to each country concerned. Then we follow it through to the decision.

How much VAT did you leave abroad last year?

Send us a sample of last year's foreign invoices and we'll tell you what would have been recoverable, country by country — before you commit to anything.

Country deadlines tracked and flagged in advance. No sales sequence.
